Check whether an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is in the 9-digit format assigned by the IRS.
How it works
An ITIN has 9 digits and starts with the number 9. The tool validates the XX-XX-XXXX format and checks the IRS rules: the first digit must be 9 and the fourth digit must be in the assigned range (70 to 88, 90 to 92 or 94 to 99). The hyphen is optional: 912783456 and 912-78-3456 are treated the same way.
