QR Code Generator

Create custom QR Codes for various content types with advanced options for colors, size and error correction.

If you don't include a protocol, https:// is added automatically.

What is a QR Code?

A QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional barcode invented in 1994 by Denso Wave. It stores information readable by smartphone cameras, such as URLs, plain text, emails, phone numbers, Wi-Fi networks, contacts and locations.

This tool generates static QR Codes following the ISO/IEC 18004 standard and standardized URI schemes (mailto:, tel:, sms:, geo:, WIFI:). Just select the type, fill in the data and the code is generated instantly, ready to download as PNG or SVG.

ℹ️ How It Works

This tool generates QR Codes based on the ISO/IEC 18004 standard. Each QR Code type encodes information in a specific way:

  • Free Text: Encodes any plain text directly into the QR Code.
  • URL: Automatically adds 'https://' if no protocol is present. Ideal for website links.
  • Email: Generates 'mailto:' link that opens default email client with recipient filled.
  • Phone: Generates 'tel:' link that initiates a call when scanned on smartphones.
  • SMS: Generates 'sms:' link to open messaging app with number pre-filled.
  • Wi-Fi: Uses standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;; format for auto-connection on Android/iOS.
  • vCard: Generates a contact in vCard 3.0 format compatible with contact apps.
  • Location: Generates 'geo:' link that opens maps at specified coordinates.
